We are a recovery community organization offering free support and resources to anyone impacted by mental health, addiction, or trauma issues.
At FOCUS, we provide a warm, welcoming space for people to learn skills, meet new people, and engage in their recovery. We connect people to other community resources when they are needed, provide education to the community, and organize recovery events. We can support you and your family on your journey of recovery from mental health problems, addiction, problem gambling or gambling addiction, or trauma issues.
FOCUS provides a holistic community supporting purpose and wellness through recovery.
Creating an inclusive culture of recovery through Hope, Understanding, and Acceptance.
Respect, Person-Centered, Culturally-Sensitive, Trauma-Informed, Inclusive
We provide recovery-oriented programming all centered around four goals:
We have programming available for adults as well as youth ages 13-18. We welcome families as well. Children are welcome at FOCUS as long as they are under the supervision of a caregiver
This a volunteer program of individuals and family members in recovery who have a passion for helping others on their recovery journey. Recovery Guides receive 12 hours of training and regular support from FOCUS staff.
Just like the Recovery Guide program, but designed to provide veteran-to-veteran support.
We have two recovery homes – one for men and one for women – that are designed to help those seeking recovery from a substance use disorder rebuild their life and rejoin the community. Our homes are peer-accredited through Ohio Recovery Housing.
A place for youth to be themselves and connect with other young people from diverse backgrounds and similar life experiences.
Mental Health First Aid is a public education program that introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental illnesses, builds understanding of their impact, and overviews common supports. This 8-hour course uses role-playing and simulations to demonstrate how to offer initial help in a mental health crisis and connect persons to the appropriate professional, peer, social, and self-help care.
All sessions are scheduled 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Storytelling is a powerful tool. Your words, your story, can have the power to lend another strength and hope. Through hope, we are able to send the message to others to hang on, pain ends. We can do amazing things by telling our story and sharing our hope. Telling your story can be both freeing and healing. At FOCUS, we believe in you and we hope you’ll tell us your story.

FOCUS: Recovery and Wellness Community staffs and manages two Recovery Homes in Findlay, Ohio. Each home is governed by a set of house rules, is supervised by a live-in Recovery Home Coordinator, and is supported by FOCUS. The Recovery Homes are certified by the Ohio Chapter of the National Association for Recovery Residences (NARR).
Individuals interested in living in the Recovery Home must be abstinent from substance use for at least 30 days and submit an application (found here) to FOCUS: Recovery and Wellness Community. After their application is submitted, individuals are asked to complete an interview process with a panel and the current residents of the home. Individuals who demonstrate a commitment to recovery but need additional structure and support will be selected to move into the home.
Recovery Housing involves three essential elements: establishes an extended period for practicing healthy routines with a resident-driven length of stay, is an alcohol and drug-free environment, and creates a safe, stable, community of peer support.
The FOCUS: Recovery and Wellness Community Recovery Homes follow the Social Model of Recovery which is a recovery-oriented approach valuing peers, community, life experience, and life-long support. The Social Model of Recovery views recovery as a person-driven, life-long, and holistic process.
