Spread the Word

Storytelling is a powerful tool. Your words, your story, can have the power to lend another strength and hope. Through hope, we are able to send the message to others to hang on, pain ends. We can do amazing things by telling our story and sharing our hope. Telling your story can be both freeing and healing. At FOCUS, we believe in you and we hope you’ll tell us your story.

We want to hear your voice…

Recovery Housing

FOCUS: Recovery and Wellness Community staffs and manages two Recovery Homes in Findlay, Ohio. Each home is governed by a set of house rules, is supervised by a live-in Recovery Home Coordinator, and is supported by FOCUS. The Recovery Homes are certified by the Ohio Chapter of the National Association for Recovery Residences (NARR).

Individuals interested in living in the Recovery Home must be abstinent from substance use for at least 30 days and submit an application (found here) to FOCUS: Recovery and Wellness Community. After their application is submitted, individuals are asked to complete an interview process with a panel and the current residents of the home. Individuals who demonstrate a commitment to recovery but need additional structure and support will be selected to move into the home.

More Information about Recovery Housing

Recovery Housing involves three essential elements: establishes an extended period for practicing healthy routines with a resident-driven length of stay, is an alcohol and drug-free environment, and creates a safe, stable, community of peer support.

The FOCUS: Recovery and Wellness Community Recovery Homes follow the Social Model of Recovery which is a recovery-oriented approach valuing peers, community, life experience, and life-long support. The Social Model of Recovery views recovery as a person-driven, life-long, and holistic process.
